Sunday, January 9th, 2011Hello, well in the last week i would say we have received 6″ of fresh, fluffy new snow. Over the week this has slowly settled. The trails are like early season skiing. Depending on which trail you choose depends on how many scrapes you may end up with. Open trails seem to have better cover. [...]
Sat 1.8.11 Report
Saturday, January 8th, 2011Glad I got out today. Here’s what I found:
Snow cover was adequate, a few thin spots, so rock-skis or snowshoes are a best choice.
Lower Saranac to Meadow – All good until just before Meadow, where there are a couple thin spots.
Solstice to Snowmobile Trail – All good up to junction w/ Luke’s Lodge, thin and [...]
Back to the Rock Skis
Thursday, January 6th, 2011Here’s what you get from the NLT report that you won’t get from those chirpy downhill ski reports–brutal honesty. And, here’s the deal with NLT skiing–back to early December conditions! The Great New Year Thaw wreaked havoc with the base. The good news is there still is a base. The better news is the last [...]
