snodate 3.23.13 Spring? HA!

by ~STS~ - March 23rd, 2013

Last year at this time snow was gone and spring had landed. This year we are able to extend our winter activities. With a foot of snow at the NLT this week and a new inch this morning, how can you not be enthusiastic? This is the best time of the year to enjoy the beauty of winter. So, don the skis, strap on the snowshoes, drag your best friend and enjoy the moment. Perfect cover at the NLT today. I’m going skiing. :) See ya there!

As the winter season diminishes, we all need to realize that it is not over yet! Come ski! Snowshoe! Bring the family, kids, friends, and make this a special day.

Please have a great day, i would say more but….there are tracks to set. Ski on!

Snodate 2.24.13 Primo conditions!

by ~STS~ - February 24th, 2013

Over the last few days and a few clippers circling around Lyon Mt. we have recieved 3-5 new inches of new snow. Conditions are superb. If fact best I have seen it all year. Most benches have snow up to the seat, so i figure about a 16″ base right now. Last weekens festivities from the “Chili Fest was great. About 200-250 skiers, snowshoers, and friends of all sorts attended for great food and fun. The winner of the 50/50 raffle donated the proceeds back to the NLT! Thanks John :)

Hope to see all of you today out in this beautiful wonderland we have here

Snowdate 1.17.13 We have snow!

by ~STS~ - January 17th, 2013

What would January be without a thaw? After 2 days of beautiful warm weather, the trails with held lots of traffic and use. This winter we have had lots of snow and the trails have been packed well. There is not a rock to be seen. The only brown you will see is probably a bit of dog doo.

There is a hard packed base and as of today a 1″ layer of fresh snow. More small storms expected. So come ski and snowshoe! Conditions are great!

This Sunday is the cock-a-doodle 10K regional qualifier snow shoe race. For more information go to cockadoodleshoe.com there could be over 100 racers. The trails will be closed during the race. There is a mass start from the meadows starting at 10:00. Finishing by 2:00
